About The Fun Chili Cook-Off
Welcome to the Fun Chili Cook-Off website the web host for the annual Fun Chili Cook-Off charity event held each Autumn at The Cork to benefit the Arizona Daily Star Sportsmen’s Fund and the Send-a-Kid-To-Camp charity. For more than a decade the volunteer committee for the Fun Chili Cook-Off has put in the work for free to host this tasty event from which all money earned goes directly to the benefit of Send a Kid to Camp as a featured charity of the Arizona Sportsmen’s Fund of Tucson, Arizona.
The mission of The Cork Fun Chili Cook-Off all-volunteer committee is to deliver this tasty annual event providing 100% of the generated funds for the benefit of Send a Kid to Camp as a featured charity of the Arizona Sportsmen’s Fund of Tucson, Arizona.
Since 2004, the 100% volunteer-run annual chili cook-off event has been hosted on either the first or second Saturday of October each year at The Cork. In that time, the event has raised more than $288,000 for the benefit of the Arizona Sportsmen’s Fund – “Send a Kid to Camp” charitable organization that works for the benefit of less privileged children located in Southern Arizona.
Our Story
How We Got Started
The Cork Fun Chili Cook-Off started in 2004 as “Jonathan’s Fun Chili Cook-Off” when a group of Tucsonans met casually to enjoy a beverage and a meal at The Cork, (formerly Jonathan’s Cork) a well-known and beloved Tucson restaurant found at the intersection of N. Wilmot Road and E. Tanque Verde.
Where We Are Now
Over the past 20+ years, The Cork Fun Chili Cook-Off has raised more than $280,000 to the benefit of the Arizona Daily Star Sportsmen’s Fun “Send A Kid To Camp” charity.
Even during the years marred by the Covid-19 pandemic, The Cork Fun Chili Cook-Off Committee continued its mission delivering results for the benefit of Send A Kid to Camp.
